What is KCBRO?
A community hub for all men.
Five years ago, KCBRO was founded on Meetup.com to “help guys meet guys and do guy stuff” throughout KCMO and beyond. From axe-throwing to urban hiking, from birthdays to game days, from book clubs to pickleball paddles, KCBRO on Meetup aimed to help guys build new, meaningful acquaintanceships and friendships while doing many of the fun activities men of all stripes and tastes enjoy.
Five years on, KCBRO’s leadership now looks to make a jump from fun get-togethers to something even more impactful.
KCBRO aims to help men thrive in their relationships with each other and with their communities. How will we do this?
Build a robust network of guys motivated to interface consistently past the merriment of KCBRO on Meetup
Actively celebrate the entrepreneurial and voluntary efforts of our guys in their communities, and help them locate opportunities for both
Help our guys keep abreast of news and events for men in the greater KC metropolitan area
Connect our guys to other resources to better their lives and partner with those resources when possible and appropriate
How KCBRO will instate these goals remains “under construction,” but we look forward to an exciting, evolving future in the greater KC metropolitan area.
Who is KCBRO?
If you call yourself a man, enjoy doing stuff with other guys, and want to make the world better when you step out your door, then you can be a KCBRO. KCBRO does not claim a specific faith or ideology.
Why is KCBRO?
Not every guy has a reliable posse of ride-or-dies from his pre- or post-high school or college days, or a group of friendly workmates for after-hours shenanigans. Not every guy wants a faith-based crew for camaraderie and self-improvement. Whether you have all of the above or not, KCBRO exists to connect guys with guys to build a durable, prosocial, and agentic community of good-humored men. Simple as that.
